Default Alloy diff covers for BW 78 with LSD and 3.45 gears

ok, so now that we've had the timewarp and i've had to do all my mods over again to the mighty NZ VN (not really, just get to tell it all again) anyways, when i had the new LSD fitted the diff guy suggested i fit an alloy diff cover to help cool it better (alloy transfers heat better then mild steel after all) so off to the wreckers i go and get the alloy diff cover of an XD/XF falcon. i've had it soaking in the wash bath at work for the last 2 days to get the 20years of crap off it. i've attached a pic. i've already cut the mount for the watts linkage off. now just gotta finish cleaning and polishing it. definitly something different. just out of curiosity, i've ordered a autometer diff temp gauge so that i can see how hot the diff factually gets.

Anyways, the new LSD is bloody tight, cornering without applying power is fine, when i start to apply power mid corner however i'm starting to get axle tramp (i think thats the term for it) it's like the inside wheel is bouncing on the road, the best solution to date has been to either back off the power or apply more so it looks like suspensiopn upgrades are going to have to happen sooner rather then later now but in the mean time i think maybe they fitted a minispool instead of and LSD

finally got the pics on. will take one later with it fitted on the diff

yep, you just need to remove the mount for the watts linkage, nothing a hacksaw can't fix (as in the pic) i'll bolt it to my spare diff later this week and take another pic. it'll be good for those that like lots of shine bits on there cars

added some more pics with it mounted on the diff. you will need to modify the bracket that holds the brake line a little. if you have a VN everything else bolts straight up but i recomend using longer bolts as the alloy flanges are a lot thicker then the original cover. if you have a later model you need to drill the bottom hole out to the size of the drain plug as it has a bigger thread, the earlier models didn't have this. you also will need to grind a little of the OD from the drain plug to clear the alloy cover
