    Default fuel economy

Hello can you please list the things ranging from easiest and cheapsest to the hard and expensive stuff that i can do to improve the fuel economy in the vp v6. im interested to find out what you can do to improve fuel economy.

Also if i dissconnect the black pipe that goes from the airbox to i think the throttle body and give that a wipe with degreaser would that improve fuel economy a little and where is the throttle body.

    Thanks for your time

All of the things below will help to increase fuel economy, dependent on the prior condition of the items:
Error code check and fix any problems.
    Replace fuel and air filters
    Clean Throttle body
Replace spark plugs and spark plug leads
Flush and replace engine oil (ensure filter is changed at the same time)
Check fuel lines for any leaks and replace any perished lines
Run a bottle of injector cleaner and/or fuel system cleaner, or even better get your injectors ultrasonically cleaned
Flush the cooling system and replace the thermostat
    Get a transmission service

If fuel economy is really bad it mite be worth replacing the O2 sensor.

totally agree, i once put a set of plugs in without double checking, the parts man had given me the wrong ones, re-gapped and it was 100% better.

dodgy temp sender for the ecu will make it suck gas also as it thinks it's cold all the time and it's like having the choke on with a carbie engine

Gee, this guy doesn't give up does he? How about using the search feature rather than clogging up the forum with questions that have already been asked and answered.

I'm more of a retro pro anti establishmentarialist that dabbles in a bit of post modernism that doesn't like ABBA.
