    Angry CAT help!!

just got a 2.5" zorst for the mighty VN but it's a foot short. so i go back to the supplier and they say it's for a CAT back system. problem, the NZ VN commodore never had a CAT fitted. so what i need to know is what is the length of the CAT converter, from flange to flange so that i can make up an extension to bolt in where the CAT should be.

    OR

do any of our NZ members know a good exhaust shop in auckland that won't charge the earth to fit a 2.5" system. most places i have called want between $700-$850 for a custom fitted system which is just way to much for me

If I had a CAT sitting next to me I would measure it for you, but unfortunately I don't. It shouldn't be expensive for some1 to make a flanged 2.5" pipe to replace the cat :S

got some pipe already, just gotta get some flanges and i'll weld it up at work but i need to know the length cause i can't fit it to measure it cause then i can't drive to work to weld it all up.

i'm thinking custom again but just gotta find a place that won't charge an arm and a leg for it. **** things are expensive here, i'd rather the $250 for a redback system in aussie but then i'd still have the problem of not having the CAT fitted.

one place wanted $451+gst for bolt on system but it had to come from aussie too, was called something like burklee??

so i welded up the extension this morning, its not a simple straight forward job as i though, the flanges are rotated about 40 degrees from each other, ended up doing one, bolting it in and then tacking the other one in place etc. all sweet now, it's a lot louder then i though it would be, a little worried it might attract the attension of mr plod, it's not to bad whe ncruising but very lloud when you hit the loud pedal and a few popping noises on over run etc
