can someone clear this up for me, im a little confused. do the vns have 2 fuel pumps fitted? or do some have a low pressure fuel pump and some have a high pressure fuel pump with a damper. why would they do this?
also what is the difference between a standard fuel tank and a long range tank?
cheers,
Ahh yes. The standard tank (generally found on V6s) had one internal pump. The v8s generally had the long range, larger-capacity tank, and two fuel pumps.
Two pumps for the 80 litre tank
One pump for the 63 litre tank
edit: although I do believe some early V8 VNs had an 85 litre tank

cheers, clears a lot up. would you know the standard fuel pressure to the single pump v6s? trying to find an external pump
Any external pump that is suited for an EFI system will work as the pump will have more than enough pressure for the system. The regulator takes care of any excess pressure. I think they run at around 50psi at WOT. EFI pumps run at more than that.
