    Default VN Starter Runs On

I have had the V8 starter motor running on when starting the car. About 3 months ago I replaced the part that wears out end of the key - $20.00 I think.

Now its doing it again - so the part can't be the only problem.

I've put some crushed up lead pencil down the key opening and now a squirt of CRC. Still does it.

Any one have a clue what to try next?

I want to fix this before it stuffs up completely.

I had that happen straight after I put a new battery in .....thing turned over like a beauty but it stayed engaged after you released the key...pulled it apart found nothing put it back together after a while it did it again took it out again and put some graphite grease sparingly on the drive gear the engages with the ring gear...never did it again...I assume the extra power was driving the solenoid just enough more to go past the ridge where the gear normally engages and jammed it...the grease put a film between the two surfaces.
