Default VN Berlina How big is my fuel tank?

Don't laugh, this is a serious question.
I brought my berlina 5 days ago and filled it up for the first time last night.
The fuel gauge had just started to read on the red, and it took 61 litres to fill.
So, do i have the 63, or the 80 litre tank ?

Check out the holding straps...if there is rubber around them on the bottom under the tank it is the 63 if there is no rubber around the straps it is the 80 litre..another guide all 80 litre tanks have a plastic stone deflector on the front that goes and around the front corner ..most 63s dont.

Seeing as its a V8 Berlina it would have the long range fuel tank. 80 Litre it is.

    Ok, thanks for the info.
Has no rubber straps and has the plastic guard at the front.
    & yes, its a v8 berlina.
So its a 80 litre then, didn't think it would have 3 litres left, when it just went into the red on the gauge.

Yeah, probably 80 litre. I can rarely get more than 55 litres into my 63 litre tank when the gauge reads empty. You may have one of those fuel gauges that goes well below red. My old S1 dash used to give me another 6mm of play below the red bar ^^

in the early v8 models there was a 85L tank wasnt there? there is somthing up with my tank coz i think it should be 85L but i can barly ever get over 60L out of it i should be getting 600k of my tank if its a 80L because i do about 12.5/100 or better on average which is 75L for 600k but i'm normaly filling up every 400k and it takes about 50L. is it possible that the pickup is bent or somthing??

Sounds like you tank breathers are blocked. Ever tried waiting a couple of minutes after filling up, then tyring agian? = traped air
Thanks for the mileage info, at least i got something to work on when i get my oddometer working on the berlina
My torana uses about 25-30 litres for 50 kays.

What year is your SS? Only the real early ones are 85lt, and even then I can't pick the difference visually between it and an 80lt one.

Nah buddy. Perhaps by co-incidence thats the maximum fill for an above ground gas tank at servo's but thats cause LPG expands to 270x its size when it goes from liquid to gas so it obvouly needs the room due to temperature fluctuations.

I was careful to say most 63 dont have the deflector ..country pak and other selected v6 cars had the deflector but most dont.

are the breathers like a hose thing? or a valve somwhere ontop of the tank.

your torana is really bad on fuel lol whats done to it unless you mean 500k's?

Breathers are rubber hoses from the tank or filler tube that generally go to metal tubes the same size that are clipped to the body and go absolutly nowhere. They will always go to the highest point under the body.

I ment 50kays, its a 355, big solid cam, 3800 stall and 4:11. I race it in the ANDRA Superstreet class. & drive it work every now and then
