    Default VN speedo stopped working.

HI all. The speedo on my V8 VN stopped working today. The trip meter and odometer still work just not the speedo. I can get a instrument cluster out of a V6 VN but are they the same or were the V8 and V6 clusters different?? While I have you attention what would be wrong with my speedo and is it repairable.

You can swap the speedo's over from the clusters and itll work but it might not be whats wrong with. Could also be the speed sensor

But if the speed sensor was stuffed wouldn't the odometer and trip meter stop working as well ????

Being his odometer aswell you'd think its the whole cluster.

From reading other peoples posts on here, V8 and V6 aren't interchangeable, so your best getting a V8 one.

Yep. For a manual, it will be on the drivers side. Not sure where the auto on is, but i think its the opposite side.

I'm getting confused with who i'm answering now lol

When my speedo sensor ****ed up, my odometre stopped aswell as the speedo, but i still had the tacho.

Just grab one from a wreckers and wire it up to your car.

That would be the first thing i'd replace. It could be something else (such as the connection to the dash itself) but i'm not sure how you'd go about checking that.

I know i had the trip computer on mine unplugged for a while so i had no speedo and no odometre
