Default removing vn calais door trim

How would you remove the entrie piece of door trim from the doors in a calais? the reasons being is that someone hit and run me while doing a robbery and there is a dent on my drivers side rear door

it sucks, as the car was clean. Im not sure if it held by just clips? or are there screws that hold the trim in place.

    thanks

I'll give you a breif run down (might do a how to with pics if i get time)

First get the smallest flat head screwdriver you can find, and pop out the trim cover (the handle)

Theres 2 phillips head screws holding that handle in (not the whole armrest, just the handle part)

You will then have to take the lock out. To do that, you have to 'pop' the red part back towards you, you could easily make a tool that has a little lip on it, to go on each side of it to pull it out cleanly, or you can take your chances using the same little flat head.

Behind that is a single phillips head screw, its a small one, so don't lose it inside the door after your 2 turns.
Then slide the cover upwards over the pin.

You will also need to pull the window switch out and unplug.

Now to the trim itself, there may be a screw in the bottom of it, mine has one, but i don't know if thats because someone dodged it up and wanted to make sure it didn't fall off.

You can just pull the trim off, there will be a plug every 100mm or so (you will be able to tell where they are.
After you have them all off, there will probably be some of the plugs stuck in the door. Pull these out with pliers being careful not to bend either of the 2 flat parts, as they sit in your trim.

Put them all back in the trim for easy refitment. Mate sure you don't push them in when refitting until making sure the pin for the lock is in the right position, the plug for the window, and anything else i've forgotten

Any problmes add me to msn or PM me and i'll rip mine off and see what i've missed.
