vn front speakers

what size speakers are up on th dash in standard vn ss?

ive blown mine n need to replace them but no idea of the size

also what does any1 recommend to get?

There 4" speakers... and there crap.

What i reccomend?

Get a set of VR/VS Door pods and fit 6" Speakers of a reputable brand.

^^Agreed, i stuffed around with 4" speakers in my rodeo before i wised up and went 6", much better.

i bought my car with 4" alpines already there, cant complain with them however i am going for a fully hectic sound system soon so probably will be upgrading and going with some vr door pods and all that jazz

used to have pioneer 4inches in mine. where ok for everday use. but the vr door pod idea with splits is the way to go

like i said, i bought the car with them already in there so wouldnt know the exact price or anything, my guess would be under 100 bucks for some decent 4" speakers, do a search on ebay or something, there should be some decent ones on there, but look into doing the vr door pods, i know you said you cant be fckd but from what everyone is saying it is well worth it.

i have MTX 4" splits in my dash..........they sound fantastic as far as 4" speakers go.......i couldnt be stuffed with the door pod thing so i sold the door pods and speaker holders..........im over stereo's nowadays hence why i couldnt be stuffed......... but yeah if ya going for the "i like to annoy old folk sitting stationary at the traffic lights" kind of stereo then yeah definantly go the speaker pods and 6" speakers but if you couldnt be stuffed with that kinda crap then get some DECENT 4" splits and amp them

yeah under $100 for the basic crap 4" splits........spend like $200 and you can get some decent ones that wont distort when amped and wont pop and distort with the volume right up


only problem with the 4" speakers in the dash's of VN's / VP's is the fact that the sound from them bounces straight off the windscreen into your face.........therefore being quite ear piercing at times..........make sure your six inch speakers in the rear (or 6X9's i GUESS) are good quality and can take some good power from the amp, then fade the sound to the back a bit because 4" splits can hurt your ears a bit even with treble down.........hence why the 6" in the doors in pods are the way to go.........the sound doesnt smack you dead in the face and tear your ears open LOL

i just chucked some 4" vdo speakers in the front.. sounds good.. but.. cause i was too lazy to change the factory wiring at the time, now they cant go that loud without distorting.. :P
