error code 24

just got home from driving and the engine light decided to come on half way through the drive
done a error code check and it come up with error code 24 which as what i believe is Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

what is this thing can any one help please

how do you do a error code check my engine light comes on every now and then but dont know what it is any info will be most appreciated

As for the VSS it is a box which convert gearbox pulses into a digital signal for the ecu and Speedo. Basically it what tells you how fast your going.

the vss is attached to the gearbox where the speedo cable normally goes in check the wires where it goes into the gearbox first

notice today that it didnt come on on a short drive but when i hit the freeway going into the city the light came on but every is working fine speedo dash should they be faulty
