    Default clips in the back of cluster..

    sorry if this has been asked a million times before but i searched and im either realy crap with the search function or its not here...
    i am currently changing to a lvl 3 cluster and i was wondering how do you take out the clips that go into the back of the cluster? i seemed to unclip them but i cant get them through the hole that is there...


    would appreciate all help, thank you

    if youre talking about seperating the switch blocks from the surround you have to undo the 8mm nut and take the alluminium bracket off.

    Are you talking about the orange and blue plugs?

    you have to take the coloured plastic off the wire connector plugs. Then put the coloured plastic parts through the dash then then you can take the connectors through. is that what you needed to know?

    yep thats exactly what i needed to know, but how do i take the plastic things off?

    I used a test lamp type (looks like a screw driver) that has a point on it. That way you can get at the tags that hold the clips in place. You have to lever one side and hold it while you try the other side.

    as greenvn said. i used a small thin flathead screwdriver i've got theres clip holding them in on all 4 sides they're a pain. just lever the big one over the lip and do 1 or both small side ones then hold it like greenvn said then do the other side.
    Also when you go to put them back make sure you have the connectors facing the correct side up. i did it wrong on number 1 and had to take it off again.... PITA

    Take note of which way the plugs go back in - easy to get them mixed up and put them back up side down.
