can anyone help? VN Calais. ive removed the top heater hose into the back of the engine (mission) and cant find the thermostat, theres nothing in the hose and i can stick my finger into the block.
am i looking in the wrong spot? is there not even one there?![]()
What series is it? The SI had the top radiator hose goes around the back of the intake manifold (under the throttle body), You need to remove the throttle body in order to remove the thermostat elbow peice (1 bolt). if your replacing it you need a new o-ring. SII are much easier, its located at the motor.

Yeah, it's not the hose you need to remove - it's the housing that the hose sits in. There will be two bolts on the housing flange, which go downward into the motor - you'll have to remove them. You will also need a new thermostat gasket I believe.
