Unhappy 1993 Hsv Clubsport Starting Problem

wonder if anyone can help/point me in the right direction?? started my clubby and drove bout 600m to end of road, and started to sound rough. thought i'd go up the road a bit and turn round, but she started running good again, until i was going down a hill and took my foot off excelerator onto break......car just cut out on me. when i went to restart it, she wound over but wouldn't fire....I went to turn her off, but for some reason turning off with key wouldn't work, still kept going even when key out of the ignition!!! had to wait for the battery to die before she stopped. had a guy look at the problem, he has had the starter motor out and disconnected the immobilisor, but she still won't fire. any suggestions??? this is my only mode of transport and i'm getting p****d off!

Maybe have a Auto Elec look into the wires around the ignition barrel ? Get the car hooked up to read the errors etc.
The other thing i think seems like a friends VP V8 which had issues once going and playing up i think that was the crank angle sensor..
But honestly i'm really at a loss to think of or know anything else I'm already stepping over my limits.

I have had this exact same problem, with the car cranking until the battery dies, even when you turn the ignition off and pull the key out.

When my parents owned my car, it plagued them for a few years, until they got fed up with it and parked it in the garage for 8 years and walked away from it.

I was getting an aftermarket immobiliser installed and it did the same thing to the auto elec.

It just ended up being the starter motor.

Its been four years now and never had that problem again.

thank you masterofreality.....this has put my mind at ease....the auto elec is convinced this is the problem too, but so far hasn't been able to fix it....next step is getting another one to try. cross fingers, toes and everything else that can be crossed!
