    Default Auto trimming

Hey guys, I had a really good idea for my car, but seeing as i failed textiles in high school. I couldn't make it work. My idea was to fit the VR calais door inserts to my VN, but i would make them red like my roof. Sounds cool? I thought so. But i buggered it up and it looks really bad. I still like the idea, so i'm thinking of going to an auto trimmer. I don't know any so i thought i would ask you guys if there's one you would recommend. Looking for one in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

There is some pics of my dodgy job below.

Alternatively, Is there anyone in the S/E burbs who would like a go at doing this for me??? Cash and grog supplied...

Yeah that looks nice 4PLAYN. What did you use for padding? I used to this wadding stuff from spotlight. It's WAY too thick, thinking mabye some foam or something.

Joey_19: It's bright, but it matches the roof. Which funnily enough, came out better than these.

I know it sounds dodgey ...
But i jut put it over the top of the old stuff, i thought the old stuff would be sufficient padding for the new fabric .... the new fabris is fairly thick anyways ...
I thought un-picking the staples would make the board weaker and not hold well ... the map holders have adhesive on them .... will do another set with a different design or look but CBF'd atm ....
all ready to put on just waiting for the last map holder to dry

I am also in the looks now for a person or people to trim a few things ... handbrake boot and centre consol top cover .... other than that the parcel shelf would be easy would it not?

Handbrake boots you can buy, look pretty good with a crome/plated handbrake. To do the parcel shelf is pretty easy, i would just cover over it.

To get something trimed properly cost heaps, it got quoted $240 for the door pieces i stuffed up, thats only with cloth not leather or velour.

BTW: how do you get the rubber handbrake part off?????

can i ask how did u attempt sticking these 2gether? if it was me id take off the old fabric and use contact adheasive and u basicly just mould it 2 the shape u want its easy coz as soon as the 2 surfaces have made contact thats it no creases or nething.

im guessing u used the hood lining same as ur roof on these? i have the exact same fabric and colour in my boot of the VT so its fairly easy 2 do

I used contact adhesive to sick the wadding to the metal surface, then used spray adhesive to bond the red material to the wadding.

I think the wadding is to thick, but it feels nice...

Don't know what that says about me though.........
