Hey there
I had a ticking noise in my VN wagon, which I recently fixed it ended up being a exhaust leak and a few bolts missing. Drove it home from the mechanics and it drove like a dream! No noise![]()
However my oil pressire light came onThis has come on before started happening after I degreased the engine at car lovers. So I put it down to a bit of water in the sensor. I tried to clean but still comes on sometimes.
Anyway when I got home I resetted the ecu. After driving it around all day today it was fine untill this afternoon where is started to stall when at the lights etc?? Start it back up fine then off again then stop then stall? Does anyone know what it could be?
I am going to diagnose tonight with the paperclip to see if there are any error codes.
Cheers
spray some wd40 on the oil sensor to extract water from it .. but it should evapourate from the engine heat anyway ..
stalling can be many things .. bad spark plugs , bad fuel , crap in injectors , throttle body needs cleaning , even fuel pump might be on its way out, or maybe even coolant temp sensors.
Do this buy some carbie cleaner and spray it all inside the throttle body
then spray some on a clean rag and clean inside the throttle body and open the butter fly and clean where it sits ... this might be your problem as most people just spray the stuff in there to clean it but using a rag does more good . If your car stalls then starts straight away then its not your crank angle sensor.
also could be blocked or dirty air filter ..... My car used to stall as well now and then so I changed spark plugs ,fuel filter , cleaned throttle body , put bottle nulon injector cleaner thru , put a pod filter on... and hasnt stalled since...

Its blowing a whole heap of black smoke when idlelling, it idles real ruff and blows smoke, but doesn't stall.
I replaced the spark plugs, fuel filter & fuel pump not long ago. It just seems a liitle bit of a conincindence that this happens straight after fixing my exhaust leak.
Could it be my oxygen sensor?
problem found there was a loose hose runing off the TPS sensor to the TB. Some dodgy hose that had been taped up! All is good now!
