Default How to replace the air compressor pully bearing

Any advice as to replacing the pulley bearing on my VN S2 V6. The air was just regassed and the compressor sounds/feels rough (from the drivers seat)from about 2500rpm up. Only noisy when compressor clutch in. It's quiet at idle when compressor clutch in.

    Thanks

did they refill it with oil when they replaced the gas they took out??? cos the oil and gas mix together and gets drawn out when the system is being evacuated.... and when its not refilled with oil the compressor gets noisy

I don't know. It was done at a long term Air specialist. I have to asume that he knew what he was doing. But I will take it back to him for a diagnosis.

Hi Peanuts, I recently had the same problem, noisy clutch bearing on aircomp I used to give it a squirt with wd40 this shut it up for a while but inevitably I had to have it fixed, I found that I could not buy a new clutch anywhere so I grabed one from the wreck yard easy enough to change remove belts undo outer nut remove washer / spacer and gently ease the clutch from the shaft, do not pry it off with a screwdriver you may damage wires behind pully, use a pully tool if u have one. anyway I did fix mine this way but it only lasted 3 months so I eventually had a new compressor etc etc fitted total cost $930.00 but all is good now. regards kirk
