hello can i ask something else, can you give me a list ranging from cheapest to the dearest of what causes my vp v6 to idle a little rough. please include rough secondhand and new prices on parts so i can compare and where is the tps, mas sensor located
rough idle can be caused by a vacum leak.. i had a really bad vacum leak aroun the injectors, replaced the o-rings and its been sweet ever since... you can turn the hose on and run it around all the manifold and vacum joints.. it the car seems like it wants to stall then its most likely sucking the water in /
wheres the tps and mas sensors located and can you give me lists on what causes rough idle ranging from cheapest to most expensive and list rough new and secondhand prices
Depends on what you mean by rough? These V6 engines aren't sewing machine smooth at idle.
Is it missing? Can you hear a pop or cough at the exhaust tip?
Is it idling at the right idle speed?
Things I have seen cause the idle to be rougher than normal;
Bad spark plug lead (causing a miss)
Bad spark plug (causing a miss)
ECU getting scrambled (causing low idle, needing a full reset)
Faulty or jammed idle control valve (causes low idle speed)
Low fuel pressure
I would agree with Rabid on vacuum leaks or TPS issues.
I'm sure others can add more causes.
TPS is attached to the throttle body. MAS (you mean MAP?) is on the passenger side firewall.
ill tell you what when you are sitting in the car sometimes it feels like its rattling abit while idling but its not loosing power and doesnt pop and does sound healthy other than that so is that rattle feel normal
ok, first you say idling rough, now you say its rattling? what is it? a rattle or rough idle? maybe your tensioner pulley bearings stuffed and is making it rattle
its hard to tell the pulleys been replaced it only feels like its vibrating/rattling when sitting inside but it doesnt loose power other than that
bita crap in the throttle body, vaccum leak, low fuel pressure, dodgey lead, dodgey spark plug, dodgey coilpack.
try resseting the idle valve
i think you hold the rpm on 2000 for 20 secs. see what is like after that.
has the belmouth been removed from the motor? if so. expect a rough idle lol. these things were not the best idling thing since sliced bread to begin with lol.
