Got a little to much wheel spin in the wet the other day and luked at my rev counter and it was past 6,000 rpm
thought they were spose to kick in at 6,000rpm
My thrash v6 vn wagon kicks in at just over 5,500rpm
and just wondering how mine could be fixed??
Cheers, Jonathan

Is it a VP/R? they would bounce the needle past 6000 before they slowed down off the limiter, My VP is set to 5500 but the needle will still make it past 6000 before it comes back down if the engine didn't have much resistance with its spinning up
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

oh and dosent have a tune that i am aware of
yea most likely just the needle... they arnt the most accurute.. i know most vn's have a solid limiter at 5500rpm.. unless the tune is infact custom then maybe there is no limiter
sorry to hijack but whats the limiter on a 5l set to?
mine is at 5800 does that sound about right?
my old commodore use to rev to 5,800RPM and then i put a different computer in it and i dont think it has had a re-tune and it reved to 6,500RPM and i could get 80 out of first insted of 60, and 140 out of 2nd insted of 120. what do you guys think its a V6 S1 and i just put a nov89 comp in.
