Is there much difference between the SC-12 and SC-14 and is $380 a good price for the kit you get the SC12, manifolds, induction pipes, adapters, brackets, spark leads, coil pack extension, switch & wiring, pulley, bolts.
    any information would be good
    Thanx.

sc12 is 200cc smaller than the sc14, thats where they get there numbers. the sc14 is a 1.4 litre charger, only slight smaller than the 1.475 m90 charger. 380 is a good price. sell the sc12, replace it with a sc14 from a japanese auto wreckers, and get a new pulley for it. you could have yourself a full setup for less than 500 which is good

and i was also wondering how to tell them apart cuase i looked at your supercharger set up and its pretty much the same type of set up (when it was the 3psi setup) but the piping to the throttle body is a little different but i cant tell the difference in size by looking at it.

from what ive heard its a bit hard to tell the difference between the two. sounds like the one your looking at is a home made kit, which isnt always bad, but i just think the sc12 is gonna be too small for any real power. the sc14 is small enough as it is

Amen to that. SC12 was originally used on the 4AG series of motors. 2 bloody litres. Chuck it on a motor twice that size and it's gonna do **** all. You'd be better off bolting a leaf blower onto your intake.

they have their number cast on them, i have a sc12 on my mini - it has sc12 cast into it on the intercooler side just above the outlet (i think thats the right way around - it turns in the opisite direction on my mini)

and yea a sc12 did crap all on a mates rb30 so on a v6 would be worse, i would think an sc14 would be the smallest you would want to go,

    sc12 is off a 1600cc
    sc14 is off a 2000 - 2500cc

    Sc12 is off a 4agze = 1600cc twincam motor found in Corolla's and aw11 MR2's

    Sc14 is off a 1ggze = 2000cc twincam inline 6 found in Soarers and a few other mid 80's Toyota's.

Sc12 has sc12 cast into the housing near the front on the side, Easiest way to id them.

No 2500cc engine in the Toyota line had a sc14.

yea i thought they were only on the 1gz, wasnt sure thats why i put the dash,

phisically they are quite similar in size ect... my mate bought an sc12 by accident by not checting the casting, it made so little difference to the rb30 it wasnt funny, unfortunatly for me they have different mounting points so i cant put the sc14 on my mini engine without massive mods to an already cramped set up
