Question wat colour is this plzzz....???

Howdy all, getting ready to paint my son's VN.Armed with the paint code I rang Protect Paints here in Adel. After reading the code 2B053 over the fone they came back & said Silver Metallic.I've searched the threads on here & found a good 1, thanks 88greenVN, but however all I can cum up with is Pale Blue Metallic 2B058 or at the other end is Marlin Blue 2B054.We would like to respray it in the same colour but sumbody tell me his car is Silver now..???

Thank you all very much for your replies.I have a pic here of a walky VL Vt-Brrrlina & it does appear the same shade, I'll be buggered.I'll remember the name Panorama Silver when we go 4 the paint.Cheers guys..

Just quickly I worked there in the 80's & 90's as a painter & remember the colour only I seem to recall it being called "Morning Lake Blue"...age reduces memory & I've had a few sleeps since then..

its not panorama silver! panorma silver is the VL name for 2b053 now you cant mix them up with models cause 2b053 on vns in marine blue or something you want 4b04 sumthing easyest way is to give your local holden dealer a call or me if you have trouble, give me the year coulour code and luxury(calais berlina exec) and theyl find it, mine says 2b053 and yours is not the same as mine
Don't blame me, It's that damn percadan..

Don't holden use the same code like 2B053, for each model but the colour actually changes? so in this case if that's the VL code for bluey silver (Panorama Silver) it will also be the code for a similar but different Colour on the VN, chances are it will be called "Something" Silver rather than a blue. I think Airstrike would have a list of all the colours used on VN's

I think that's it 88GreenVN, thanx 4 that hey.His is a Sept 89 Ser.1 Exec.I'll just let him have a goose on here & decide wat he wants, but Saphire Blue seems to me to be the closest shade so far.

on vl's 2b053 in panorama which we all no as walkinshaw but on mine 2b053 is azure silver which is very very similar but has a difference, im doing my resparay in walkinshaw panorama silver.. at autobarn he sais 2b053 was marine blue or sumthing so it depends on the quality of there catalog, he said the only difference was the amount of black and purple mixture obviosly his system wasnt very good

I'd agree with Keesh. I had a look through the VN colour listings at work today and 2B053 is Azure Silver right through the VN range. Generic name is light blue according to Microcat.

well thats what i was going off, the general information section on microcat, the thing we have to be careful with is build year, and we look at THAT code for THAT year to give us a colour because same code can be used for different years of vehicle but physicaly look different of have a different finish code.. they list a gm code and then a different code used for other paint catalogs, a combination code and codes for silver and bumper bar colours, like i said b4, an autobarn catalog isnt going to give all this information
