Hey guys, i am wanting to remove the tow bar off my 1992 VP, i have a group a rear bar on it so there is that gap that gives me some more breathing space to work with, but i was just wondering, will i need to put some support under the fuel tank and undo the bolts for the passenger side strap that holds the fuel tank on? It's a GM towbar (from memory it has a GM stamped into the steel on the actual towbar) and i can see that it runs over the top of the passenger strap but havent gotten right under the car to check the lot out..........any help on how to remove it step by step would be great!

I've gotta remind myself to take mine off also, I don't know if ours are the same.
Nah mine looks different to your one.
This wasn't originally on the car it was put on later by the original owner.
But it has GM stamped on it.
It seems to have one bolt somewhere up behind the fuel tank and one up the front closest to the exhaust tip, and it runs under one of the straps that holds the fuel tank on...........
Anyone?

All good, i just got under there and had a look, it's a hayman reese towbar, up the back of the tank where the bar bolts up and where the strap for the tank bolts up are 2 different spots, but at the exhaust tip end the bar and the strap bolt up at the same place, so i will need to get my hydraulic jack and a solid block of wood to jack under the fuel tank when i undo that one bolt that bolts in the same spot as the strap, the other end is fine.
