It depends a lot on the brand of muffler you purhcase, too. Redback will sound vastly different to Lukey, and Magnaflow again will produce a very different noise. I'm running a Supercat muffler, and anybody who's heard it would probably agree it sounds a bit crispier than most commodore drone pipes.

A lot of money to spend to make it sound different. You could try different mufflers, but I thing the best sounding V8's have extractors, twin cats, twin 2 1/4" into a single 3" muffler just before the diff, then out the back with no resonator in 3". It will also give it more go.Probably looking at around $1500-$1700.

No matter what you do you'll never get the V8 sound, I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on a V6 exhaust.

Hang on....I thought it was a V8, but it only has a V8 TB....misread that bit.

But...the best note I have heard is a extractors, single cat, 2 1/2" system with a chambered glass packed muffler and a hotdog resonator on the rear.

Yeah, glass packed mufflers do give a nice noise, but they're a bit expensive for the garden variety V6 aren't they? I suppose it's all about how desperate to be different you are.

The SV3800 tune gives the V6 a very nice burble note with a standard exhaust system. I hate the no rear muffle V6 sound - drones badly

i got a custom built chamber muffler instead of strait through like everyone else.. the flow is slightely restricted in comparison to strait, but it has the burble that gibbo's(5Ls) have because its broken up in the middle.. it doesnt drone at all.. its custom because normally there slightely quiter due to having packing in the muffler around the chambers but i had it all taken out. half way between performance and sound

    I wouldn't be putting a 3" on a V6, too loud, no power.
