I have a VN V6 and getting mods last on down the track, at the momment, V8 TB, SC VS C.A.I, Slightly modded computer and more.
But when i am driving around i allways hear the same note come out of VN VP VR V6 commodores and every1 is getting the same set-up i want a different note something to top the rest, so does any1 have a nice, difference sounding V6, drop a line of what you have and costs. thanx
the only different exhaust note i have eva heard is probs my bros hes got a super turbo exhaust with all this otha stuff add to it from D&T cost him about $1500 though but it sounds awesome... depends how much $$ u got and how much $$ u wanna spend... just go into an exhaust place n ask them what u want and what kinda sound (s) u want or after, im sure they can figure somthing out
What about a 3inch cat-back 1 muffler 1 hotdog.
Hotdogs can make a different sound deep crackle roar etc..

It depends a lot on the brand of muffler you purhcase, too. Redback will sound vastly different to Lukey, and Magnaflow again will produce a very different noise. I'm running a Supercat muffler, and anybody who's heard it would probably agree it sounds a bit crispier than most commodore drone pipes.

A lot of money to spend to make it sound different. You could try different mufflers, but I thing the best sounding V8's have extractors, twin cats, twin 2 1/4" into a single 3" muffler just before the diff, then out the back with no resonator in 3". It will also give it more go.Probably looking at around $1500-$1700.
No matter what you do you'll never get the V8 sound, I wouldn't spend a whole lot of money on a V6 exhaust.
Hang on....I thought it was a V8, but it only has a V8 TB....misread that bit.
But...the best note I have heard is a extractors, single cat, 2 1/2" system with a chambered glass packed muffler and a hotdog resonator on the rear.
Beau Duke: Man, I'm never gonna get outta this car again. I'm gonna live in it, I'm gonna eat in it and I'm gonna make sweet love to it!
Luke Duke: You mean you're gonna make sweet love IN it.
Beau Duke: Oh no, I'm gonna have sex with it.

The SV3800 tune gives the V6 a very nice burble note with a standard exhaust system. I hate the no rear muffle V6 sound - drones badly

yeh i have v6 with 2.5 1muffler zorst extractors and sv3800 tune aswel as highflow cat i reckon my cars louder then some v6's and has better note then most but then u hear a v8 go past and hear wat a real note sounds like :P
MY VY SV8 HBD http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...y-sv8-hbd.html
how can i get my hands on a tune like that? i seen them on ebay but i dont no who is the scammer or not.
I had Pacemaker extractors and a redback 2.5" exhaust with no resi, it sounded pretty loud, had a bit of a drone to it though, I had ppl ask if it was an 8, I lolled at them.
get a v8![]()
13.3 1/4 exhaust only untuned!
Not allowed to drive a V8 on Ps in VIC, its a shame
cats make a bit of a differnce to, look into a decent cat
The best sounding V6 is a quiet one,I have yet to here a nice sounding V6 but thats just me
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
i got a custom built chamber muffler instead of strait through like everyone else.. the flow is slightely restricted in comparison to strait, but it has the burble that gibbo's(5Ls) have because its broken up in the middle.. it doesnt drone at all.. its custom because normally there slightely quiter due to having packing in the muffler around the chambers but i had it all taken out. half way between performance and sound
Don't blame me, It's that damn percadan..
If you ask me, that stuff rots your brain...
And now a word from our new sponsor.. Percadan? oh crap!
