Personally, I run the cooler separate from the radiator.

I'm pretty sure the bottom one is the feed pipe and the top one is the return line. If you are using the radiator, hook the top line from the radiator to your cooler, then the return line to the cooler. The fluid has to run from the trans, through the radiator, through the cooler, then back to the trans. If you aren't using the radiator, it doesn't matter.

o is there anything you have to do with the hose on the radiator if you just run it through the cooler?

If running an extra cooler inline with the radiator, then remove one hose from the radiator and attach it to your new cooler, and then attach another hose to your cooler and attach it to the radiator

No, you can block the holes off in the radiator with the caps that are on the cooler so no crap gets in it, but you don't really need to.

Did you bypass the radiator? and just do the lines to the tranny cooler?

i left the feed line on the radiator and just put hose from top of radiator to cooler then from cooler to return hose in front of engine.

you might aswell plug the holes in the radiator and run 2 seperate lines from tranny feed and run it to the tranny cooler hooked up to the front of the radiator, that would be a better idea and alot neater.

Depends on how big the trans cooler is But if it's fairly large, then that's a good idea That's how my stato was set up before I chucked out the auto box

This may be useful - about 1/4 the way down there is an image of trans cooler flow and some spiel about the value of retaining the cooler in the radiator side tank:
