    Default Remove Fuel Dampener?

    Hey,
Just wondering if its ok to remove the fuel dampener? Iv bought a Bosch 044 and want to run it in the standard location but as its a little bigger than standard, so i would like to get rid of the dampener and run a fuel filter before and after the pump. Any suggestions?
    Cheers!

Yes it should be no problem they're there to stop fuel pulses but i beleive there's 2 (most cars have 2) so it should not be a big deal

Cheers Pub. I didnt expect it to be a major drama. I read that the dampeners surpress the pulses but im wondering what would happen i would run none at all? If i only have the one ill just relocate it somewhere else.
    Cheers!

turn a corner and might catch an air pocket and cause a fuel surge??? i think there has to be atleast one in there for your fuel pumps safety

Go ahead and remove it if you wish. Early VNs didn't have it. It is there for NVH reasons; to stop fuel line hammer noticeable without it.

Vn only uses the fuel dampener with the long range tank. There they have two fuel pumps so I think it's to stop one pump hammering the other. Dunno about the later ones.

Yea ud think that it would be between pumps wouldnt you? Ill just make a bracket and relocate it before the second filter.
    Cheers!

Cheers for the feedback. I ended up just bending the bracket which allowed for the room i needed. I didnt need to move it. Cheers!
