Diff question

ok...just came back from wreckers, there was a diff there that said high performance and was lsd, so me and a friend decided to rip out the centre, however we could see that the arms could not budge... is there anyway to disconnect the arms from the centre of a non-irs diff? or do u have to get the whole thing?
