Default vp 5l missing sometimes + hard to start

My vp calais 5l has been missing a bit lately while cruising ya feel it chug a bit and doesnt feel as powerful as it should be, it seems to run worse when the engine is warm.
Also the car is hard to start, takes 2 secs to start usually and sometimes longer.
Recently i've replaced plugs, dizzy cap, rotor button, fuel filter, oil and filter, and also run a bottle of nulon injector cleaner through and have tried different fuels and still the same thing occurs.
What else could be causing the problem?

have you adjusted the base idle lately??? you might of opened the throttle too much and the throttle plate is revealing the port for the charcoal canister and its purging fuel vapour into the intake manifold..... could also be the coil on its way out

take out those screws and invest in a charcoal canister lol...... it ends up saving you petrol money by recycling the fumes

yeah, so does the breather hose from the tank go to the charcoal canister, and the 2 lines from the tb? i'll have to see if all the lines are still there.

get some carby cleaner and give the throttle body a really good clean too, that might help a little

also noticed that the monsta tacho had been goin crazy, like the signal is cuttin in and out for it, the dash tacho also does it a bit sometimes but not as bad as the monsta, guessing this would be linked to the same problem.

did you use any conductive grease under the body mounting surface? its critical that it has it there to stop corrosion

I was thinking ignition module aswell.

With the tacho, the problem is you have a perfectly good one in your dash now. Rip the monster tacho out and your problem will be solved

come with the car, dont wanna rip it out till i find somethin else to put there to fill the hole, dont like the idea of a hole in my dash.
But i agree, why do ya need a tacho when ya got one in the dash already? and a shift light when its an auto?

hey i think i know what half my starting problems could be, my dizzy cap and rotor button are 30,000 thrashed driven hard as fu@k km's old, and my plugs about 25-30,000 of the same driving style (obviously). i also have 10mm top gun leads, will they be OK. i'm changing the plugs and dizzy cap/rotor though. also i'm gonna get a new coil.

Unless you run 10s, you don't need a shift light, cause you can hear the motor.

I think you should go find the old owner and punch them for drilling holes in your dash.
