was driving through robina in the gold coast this mornin and i saw a vn v8 with a hsv paintjob bodykit etc but on the back it looked like it had two really big oil filters close together hanging down from the rear drivers side bumper....was strange. does anyone know why
ps keep off the gold coast roads they are absolutely shocking over indy weekend, ever wanka and his lancer is out on the road trying to prove they an indy driver.
Possibly a couple of aftermarket (such as holley) external fuel pumps, bloody noisy things they are (or one fuel pump and a swirlpot made to look the same)
i'd say it's some sort of aftermarket fuel filter setup also

was a noisy ***er, was missing the rear bumper so yeh maybe, whats a swirl pot
yeah talk about traffic jams on the coast, sat on the goldie hway in traffic near Q1 for ages, n it was still the same at 10pm, 2hrs later.
two white objects about the size of a lawn bowl (all i cud think of lol) about an inch apart just on one side.......bracket......???? my first thoughts was some elaborate nos setup.
Be aftermarket fuel pumps for sure

just looked like over size oil filters
It mite be the oil filters.I've seen this sort of thing b4 aswell.V8 supercars run a dry sump set-up whereas the oil is pumped thru rails in the chasis & into filters located unda the drivers side rear. They normally have a oil cooler tucked in the front air dam sumwhere.Inside the boot is a tiny sump. That's why during races if they need to put oil in the engine they open the boot.It prevents the engine from running out of oil during hi speed conering. It maybe a real, but retired V8 racer, or simply just sumbody being a wannabe...

i don't think a 10ltr dry sump setup would be considered tiny. dry sump setups normally have lots more oil in em then a standard wet sump setup we have in our street weapons.
but to go back on topic, fuel filters i'd put my money on. there spin on/spin off type filters just like the oil filters you spin onto the block

Go & look inside a proper v8 race car, then u'll see wat i'm talking about....
