My odometer has stopped working on my VP Series 2.
I have gotten 2 quotes to fix it. one was $220 (Wollongong where I live) and the other $140(Cronulla).
Its suppose to be just the plastic cog that turns the numbers so I cant see why its costs so much to fix.
anyone got any ideas?
Maybe its the labour they always charge. A lot of fiddly bits with the cluster, which might require time....
As Nikkojoe said, it would be mostly labour.Originally Posted by wooly72

IMO, the job is worth the $140 (if they do it properly...)
its actually $90 if I take out the cluster. But I'm sure if I did it something would get broken
I took the one out of my 89 VN, only a level one cluster. It wasn't a hassel! I found a place that had the small cog that drives the odometer and bought it for ten bucks (in Townsville). I carefully took it all apart and did the job myself. It isn't that hard. Do a search for odometer threads and you should find one detailing how to do this. There should be one linked to me. OSL 060 helped me out.
It isn't that hard, really! Have fun!
P.S. Did a search straight after posting this and it came up with 2 pages worth!
