    Default ADR emmision levels?

    does anyone have any idea's n what sort of emmison a series 2 3.8L has? wanting to swap a rb30et into a vn and mechanic said 2 find out what the differnes in pollution levels are. cheers

    Be the same. Any doubts, check the ADR compliance plates on a car for an example of each. Both will list 37/00.

    my understanding of engine conversions was that an older engine isnt to be fitted to a newer chassis

    wot sort of mechanic doesnt know ADR emission levels? I think your onto something there Peanuts!

    They have both comlpied with 37/00 and you can legally swap either motor into either car, all cars from mid? (unleaded) 1986 to 1996 or so run ADR 37/00

    Thats a untrue rumour most mechanics believe, you can still find a few silly transport engineers around that believe that's the case too. Just keep ringing till you get an engineer that actualy knows the laws , they are out there

    Greenfoam is correct re. old vs new. One catch is that some vehicle manufacturers comply with upcoming standards early, perhaps to avoid an update close to a new model release, in which case the car/engine has to comply with a more stringent standard than the build date might suggest.
