does anyone have any idea's n what sort of emmison a series 2 3.8L has? wanting to swap a rb30et into a vn and mechanic said 2 find out what the differnes in pollution levels are. cheers
Be the same. Any doubts, check the ADR compliance plates on a car for an example of each. Both will list 37/00.
my understanding of engine conversions was that an older engine isnt to be fitted to a newer chassis
wot sort of mechanic doesnt know ADR emission levels? I think your onto something there Peanuts!
no mechanics going to know emissions levels for every single car available
The test is only at idle anyway, should be easy.
Greenfoam is correct re. old vs new. One catch is that some vehicle manufacturers comply with upcoming standards early, perhaps to avoid an update close to a new model release, in which case the car/engine has to comply with a more stringent standard than the build date might suggest.
