V8 lvl3 dash to v6

what would I have to swap to convert the V8 tacho in the lvl3 dash to read correctly in the v6?
Is it the tacho gauge itself or the voltage regulator?

its in the tacho gauge the pcb mounted to the back of the tacho just a link and a resister that need to be changed takes about 5 sec
