Odometer stopped after brakes replaced

New discs & pads fitted to front of car, picked car up and odometer/trip meter isn't working now.

Have phoned mechanics they are yes/no/not sure???

Anyone had this problem?

Wondering if it's related or just a coincidence?

Any opinions before I go screaming at the mechanics?

It was working before the mechs took it? Was NOT working after? Then you would think its their problem to fix it, but on the other hand it prolly wasn't their fault. What to do....What to do....

P.S. the problem is probably because the little old fragile plastic cog snapped inside the odometer hence its not working.
