    Default radiator overflow bottle.

    hi all,
my radiator overflow bottle has a smal crack in the top and is leaking pressure.
is this detrimental to the running of the cooling system as im sure it runs a pressurised system.

also is there anything people have replaced it with or removed it?

and has anyone got any ideas on patching it?
i thought mabey fiberblass the whole thing gel coat it and it would look good.

secondly.. for the time being do you think heavy duty oil stabliser or thick oil would semi quiet down the balance shaft bearings.

    thanks all
    dave

get a butter knife, heat it up till its hot then just softly run it across the crack, thats what i would do to temporarily fix it, or just run down to the wreckers and grab another for like 5$.

well overflow bottles have a breather pipe to vent excess pressure, so i dont think an extra hole would affect the car short term

Vp is the same too isnt it?

dont think so as the series 2 had a filler cap in the radiator and no overflow bottle.
    i think
