hi, guys, I need your help. I flushed my Mazda tribute in a local dealer. my dipstick specified MERCON. but on the bill they said they used Dexron III. I am not happy and argued with them. they tried everything to persuade me that they are the same; they use DIII in the tribute before, no problem; there is no Mercon.... etc. I called Mazda AUstralia and the lady over the phone informed me that DIII and Mercon got different grade and viscosity. I called back to the Mazda dealer and argued with the manageer again, this time he said he can do it again with Mercon V but I have to pay 45 bucks extra. I recon this is a rip off but said I have to accept it and all I want is got the car serviced properly.
anyway, does anyone could tell me that Dexron 3 and Mercon is the same or not. what if I make them to do it with Mercon V. I tried some mazda forum but there does not seem to be lots of funs. hope my commodore guys could help me out. I like my commodore, nothing to worry when you drive it and it is pretty robust and easy to maintain. by the way do not go to the mazda dealer in alexandria, sydney, they are pretty much rubbish, I just asked them to do the transmission flusha nd brake fluid flush and they made a lots of scratches on my car. this is not professional. it is a big surprise to see this happen in australia, this is the dirty business in developing country, but I recon we have to mkae some compromise here.
