Hello it might be a stupid Q but the fuel pressure reg is making a weird noise and it didnt before, when you turn the key on to ACC it makes a weird noise
any ideas.
Hi Bz Kn33z, as far as I know the FPR on a VN series 1, is vacuum powered only and unless the engine is running does nothing. With the engine running you can get a vacuum leak or a fuel leak but that's about it...
What sort of noise are you hearing and are you sure it's coming form the FPR?
Cheers
It sounds like it is from the reg, my car wont kick over cause of flat battery, but when it goes onto ACC it makes the noise like sucking gergaling noise never heard it before.
Take off the small rubber hose and place your finger over both holes and see if its wet if so then its leaking fuel and needs replacing ... also make sure the hose is on properly and theres no cuts in it.
But this ony works when engines running so doubt it would be the reg , are you sure its not the fuel pump priming and sendin fuel thru the lines ?? as if you try to start car on dead battery then the fuels gonna gargle from the pressure, not much power needed to run the pump so its probably that.
You probably havent heard this noise before cause you start ya car and the engines the only noise you hear.
Top up ya battery with distilled water just above the cells inside & get someone to jumpstart ya and go for a drive to charge ya battery up ....![]()
