Is it possible to twist the steering column when breaking the steering lock(as in stealing the car)? The covers for ignition do not sit level with the instrument panel (a 1" gap on passenger side). I can't see any damage with column in the car so will take it out and compare with one I know is good. Hope it is not a mounting bracket. Anyone experienced this before?
