hey all - the following is a list of mods i am considering doing to a v6 vp in brissy. but to do so i am looking for a little info / recommendations

    1. Engine Rebuild - where? costs?
    2. Transmission rebuild / stage one or two shift kit - which? where? price?
    3. CAI - which? where? cost?
    4. extractors + cat back - which? where? cost?
    5. rockers - which?

    I'm no expert, but afaik:

    1. Engine Rebuild - Upward of $1500, it really depends on how much you want done.
    2. Transmission rebuild - From $1000 depending on what you have replaced, and what with.
2b. Stage two shift kit - $400 with a Corvette servo piston
    3. CAI - Make one yourself for tuppence, or get a stock one for $50. Will most likely change once you're charged, because the airbox may move.
    4. Extractors - Upward of $600 if you install them yourself, around $800 installed. Depends on brand.
4b. Cat back - $200 to $400 depending on how fussy you are. Think of your boost application.
    5. Rockers - Maybe not such a good idea if you intend to boost it?
    6. Chipping - Upward of $200 if you get it done properly to suit boost.

There's a lot of variables in there - and a lot of those things (like your extractors) will change after boost. Think of the sort of flow you will need, and which brand (genie, HM, pacey) will suit you better. eg: where do you want your power curve to peak?

Also think about whether the engine really needs to be rebuilt etc before boosting. If it does, then do you really want to outlay all that money, or just buy yourself a good L67 and drop that in. Could be cheaper. Or even a V8 if you're more concerned about raw power than just boosting a 6. The buick engines are all well and good, but they do rather enjoy to throw a conrod once in a while if you're not careful.

Trans rebuild is also a nice idea... but the costs start to make you think about a manual transmission

If you're thinking about charging, also maybe think about diff gears (3.45:1 is a nice ratio for a charged auto), because you may find yourself spending a lot of time outside your peak power with an sc14 Shorter gear ratios will be for the win.
