i'm looking for some cheap and effective solutions to improve handling. i do a lot of kms (over 400,000km so far) and i will be doing some big highway trips over christmas. i'm not happy with my current front end set up... tires wearing out of round and no one can seem to get the wheel alignment right.
the old girl has new factory strut tops (bearing plates?) and i've just done rotors and bearings in the front. i've had the suspension checked and bushes and stuff are apparently ok. i'm looking to spend another $500 - $800. i can do some basic stuff myself but i'd rather leave critical stuff to professionals. i dont feel the need to lower the ride height.
any suggestions? the simplest thing that comes to mind is a strut brace, $200ish and i can probably fit it myself, but are there other things i can do that would give me more value for money, or that i should do as well? ie stiffer shocks, sway bars... i dont know much about suspension to be honest.

Maybe replace the link pins and all front end bushes, try and find a top notch wheel aligner.
If your tyres are "wearing out of round" i would try to get that figured out before doing anything else. What exactly do you mean by that? maybe something is bent/ not balanced.
Dont waste your money with a strut top brace if yours only going standard springs and shocks, you wont notice a difference.
Make sure your shocks are in good condition/replace them, and replace any even slightly sus looking bushes.
