    can anyone give me a guide to installing a vs ignition into a vn calais

    You mean the ignition barrel? Does that even line up with a VN sterring column?

    save yourself the hassles and get yourself a complete VS steering shaft to bolt in

    They are exatly the same. VN-VS has the same ignition barrel.

    dont ignitions have a type of one way screw on them, thus you cant un-screw it you have to break it off?

    ah no they dont... VR/VS have a different 2 piece barrel which the inner piece can be removed without the out piece and shear nut being removed aswell... on the VR/VS the kety has to be turned to the ON position and a pick or small screw driver pushes down on a locking tab... then you pull on the key and it removes the inner part

    Ah, yes they are the same if they are both guenuine Holden. The inner piece of a VN/VP barrel can be removed the same way as the VR/VS barrel. (you need the key for this) I know this because i have used a VN outer ignition barrel with the inner part of my VR barrel. It workes and fits fine.
