i was havibng trouble with my car not having spark or injector pulse, so i sent my car off to have the CAS, and harmonic balancer changed, now it has come back. it runs... but like absilute crap, past 2/3 throttle it just pings and surges. no power what so ever for a while then if i back it off it starts going again. :S... im kind of at a loss, at first i thought maybe the workshop has done something wrong as it wasnt doing this before unless my coilpacks or dfi module have gone at the same time also...
my car is also a supercharged v6... but happens regardless of the supercharger on or off,.
im kind of at a loss atm.
mate i have the same problem with mine and its supercharged aswell. my theory to this is that because i had to relocate the coilpack and dfi further away, its not getting a strong enough spark and over time becasue its trying to get a stronger spark, its just killed it. i think i read in another thread, you were going to upgrade to a msd coilpack, i might do this and also replace my cas, will see how it goes then, hopefully should solve the problem.
yeah i plan to, thing is atm mt coilpack is on inlet manifold.. if anything the spark is closer, and i can run the car on a basic sv3800 tune with standrd map sensor and it still has the problem, it isnt in the tuning or spark distance i figure, but also maybe the series one coilpacks just are not up to the task. the fishy thing is that before i sent it to have the cas changed, this was not a problem and ran fine.
got a space ecu change that and see if it helps
i have a sv3800 tune too and running standard map sensor still but i hardly ever have my supercharger running, i might go look over all the wires that i had to extend from the coilpack, although i did solder them all, one or 2 wires may have come loose.
done a diagnostics on it today came up with fault cde 41. which is crank angle sensor isnt it? i just had this changed![]()
tried changing back to a 1 bar mapsensor and standard tune. still doesnt start, tried my 2 bar stuff back on still the same, cas was changed two days ago, yet it still brings fault code 41 back up after clearing the history... havnt checked the coilpack or module yet, going to try get a hold of another ecu to try if not it only really leaves me with module and coilpack.
tried different ecu, still no joy. =(
