Default Windscreen wiper arm nut stripped... New linkage ??

    Hey all

With Melbournes' brief shower tonight I discovered the drivers side wiper arm nut has stripped on it's thread thus ensuring the drivers side wiper is no longer moving

Just wondering if anyone knows if I can just replace the linkage thread on the wiper motor or if I need an entire wiper motor assembly ?

    Thanks in advance...

The same thing happened to mine a while back. It's probably easiest and quickest just to grab a complete linkage from the wreckers rather than trying to muck about replacing parts.

They're (the linkage) only about $45 new so not really worth even stuffing around with used.

Yeh, just got a 2nd hand one from the wreckers for $8

Install was a breeze until I realised i hadn't reset the park angle so I had to fiddle around for about an hour getting the wipers in the right position...

I did notice though the VP one I got has different components to the original one (the original one had thicker round black linkage arms and the VP one has thinner metal ones)

the newer ones are probly better, compared to my old one the new ones are heaps thicker theyve been revised youl probly find that in time the second hand one you bought will probly fail theyre a common problem
