Default Fitting 19's onto lowered VP....Tyre size?

Hey guys, was just wondering, if there any way of fitting 19's to a lowered VP commodore without rolling guards or coil overs? It's lowered on pedders sports ryder springs, the bottom of the guard on the rear sits perfectly level with the top of the tyre (doesn't tuck tyre), and the front has a bit over an inch of space left between the tyre and the guard.

I have included a pic, you can sort of see how it sits on 18's.

If it is possible to fit 19's without rolling guards or using coil overs to prevent scrubbing, what tyre size should i be looking at?

I've got superlows in the front and ultra's in the ass. The front's with 235 clear fine, and the rears with 235's cleared fine, but the gaurds were rolled just incase.

Sweet as. Yeah a mate of mine works for suspension city, and he reckons because my car is lowered but not sitting on it's ass, 235's SHOULD clear fine on the front and rears with 19's. But he wants to chuck an adjustable panhard rod in there as well which i will be doing.

Geoff: Well i wasn't going to until my cousin told me he has a set of senator sig's without tyres he will sell for $900. They are copies, but big deal. The price difference between the real ones and the copies is enourmous. The quality may not be as schmiko, but for $900 for a set of wheels i have ALWAYS wanted, it doesn't bother me. Plus i'll have the cash leftover easy for tyres.

Sure every man and his dog has senator sigs, but i don't care, i still love em.

All the copies i have seen are around the $1400 mark without tyres.

Yep. People are selling stooge copies for that much!! But considering i can save a fair chunk of cash by buying copies from my cousin works for me. Then if i decide they look **** on my car, i can sell em for the same price or more with tyres.

Any tyre place with half a brain would know 245's rarely clear on a VN. ALL HSV rims will foul.

ah i remember having a full car load, with 245s on the back, going onto a looped freeway on ramp at 80km/h. that was a horrible sound those tyres made when they rubbed. i went to 235s right after that

With rolled guards its fine. I can squeeze a 255 under mine.

With rolled guards there is plenty of room in the rear.

Even in the front, with a 30 profile you can fit 255's (not that you really want to on the front) on rims with the correct offset.

I think the size of tyre you can fit ties in with the off set on the rim. I have 17" vy spac rims on my car 235 tires, an the rears scrape on small bumps and long turns and that with just the driver, but i haven't rolled my guards yet so oce i do that it'll be fine.

If you are putting 17to19s on the car roll the gards even if its not lowered heaps might as well get it done insted of stuffing up all your tires and even worse the mags. i had superlow in from and in the back it was also superlows but looked crap so i attacked it to make it lowed and i had 245s rear 235 front with no dramas with rolled gards.

my car scrubs like a bitch in the rear with 235's ive got ultra low springs in her but no adjustable panhard rod (which i plan on getting) and no guard rolling. doesnt scrub in a straight line but turning causes problems, goin left is worse than right. but when you look at my tyres you can hardly tell that theyve been scrubbing its not doing any damage just a light ware mark around the side wall and the lettering has a line through it.

if i was you id just put the 19's on and if you have any problems take it from there

Hahaha, don't worry, even man and his dog has them on his commodore down here, i see at least 4 different holdens a week with sigs on them. I don't give a hoot though, i still love em, they are one of the nicest wheels HSV ever released.
