    Unhappy Injectors crapped themselves???

Pulled my instrument cluster out today to replace some bulbs. When I put it back in, the car wouldn't start.

I could smell fuel, and the engine rotated but wouldn't fire. Opened up the bonnet, and could hear this electrical crackling sound coming from the injectors, I think.

Any ideas what has happened, and what I'll need to replace/fix?

    Cheers, Cogez

check all the injector plugs are on properly and check the fuel relay and stuff and check the injecotrs as one might be cracked or loose. also check that u put everything back the same when u put the dash in again..

Best way to test injector firing:

Get a parker globe, the little 12v ones. Unplug an injector, and shove the parker globe into the plug. Get someone to crank the engine over quickly while you watch it. If the globe pulses, your injectors are getting power. Try this on every plug. If they're not flashing, then it's an electrical problem, check fuses etc

I'd be checking everything you have touched in the dash. It may be just coincedence, but after pulling the dash out and then it not starting, I would say they are related. A fuel smell would indicate injector pulse, but no spark.

Don't take it to Holden man! They will charge you $200 to tell you, 'it seems it might be something with the injectors'.

Exactly, you get charged through the absoloute ROOF by Holden. Back when i first got my car and knew basically sweet FA about cars etc, i took my car to holden to get a headlight replaced. They wanted $700 parts and labour for ONE headlight fitted.

Lucky i have learnt a few thing along the way. Just take it to a good mechanic mate. They would probably do better than the douchebag's at holden anyway.

Holden is just a mechanics run by a holden dealership. No difference. Just more expensive.
