My VP GTS is exactly the same. I recently got a full rebuild with stage 1 and when flat footing it its VERY reserved. I've had a little fiddle with the kickdown but not much success, should I take it back to the automech and get him to tweek it or can this be done via the memcal?

Its not a urgent problem, its not like you can't drive the car, give it some time and see what surfaces.

Take it back to the bloke who did the shift kit, and ask him to loosen the shift cable for you.

Casual driving, my car used to shift at around 3000rpm. I didn't like it. I asked my trans man to tighten it when he put the shiftkit in, and now it shifts around 2400rpm. Flat stick, it shifts around 4 grand. so I would assume that if I had this cable untightened again, it would shift around 3 normally, and redline when I punish her

Yeah, I might do that, see what he has to say about the issue.
