my auto trans kicks up to 4th gear fine but most of the time wont stay there and slips back to 3rd, sometimes it stays in 4th fine and always does above 90km but between like 78-85km it just keeps slipping.
could this be the seals or even the cables? just serviced too and still doing it and fluid shouldnt be the prob. thanks
Has anyone got any idea? My girlfriend has this prob in her vs, thought she was maybe gonna need a new trans but the seal was gone, new seal and it was fine.
Im sick of driving in the white drive when around a 80 zone otherwise i have to put up with constant gear changing..thx
sounds like a torque convertor not locking up
who serviced it? was it doing it before the service? could just be a simple thing like the kick down cable needs adjusting, but it sounds like something more sinister than that, like incorrect functioning of the hydraulic valve body, torque convertor,or as you say a leak back of a seal, just try the kickdown cable adjustment first then see how it goes
The car has only just been serviced 2 weeks ago, it started doing it not that long before the service and still is, just i dont know how do anything technical with the cars and need an actual mechanic to look at.
When it drops down to 3rd it feels horrible and like im definately in the wrong gear i can rev and it will kick up to 4th or i can change to the white drive on the transmission and it feels ok but i wanna get 4th fixed.
