Unhappy SAAS steering wheel bolts, horn, rattle??

G'day,

My VR has a SAAS steering wheel on it and when driving it has like a loose click in it as you turn the wheels from left to right the loose spot it when the wheels are straight. Does the same when going from right to left also. Its only a few mm's but it ****es ya off and I need a RWC this week.

The plastic horn button doesnt work either.

But the big thing is, I cant get the steering wheel off cause 3 of the 6 allen key bolts are stripped. Is there anyway to get them off?? And where to get new bolts from??

Any help would be great.

Thanks a heap.

Cheers

if the bolts are badly stripped then unfortunatly drilling em out is the only option. but first get a ball peen hammer and tap the center of the bolts, sometimes this closes em up enough to get the allen key to grip to get it out. make sure you support the steering wheel with your knees or something when tapping with a hammer so that you don't collapse the the column.

have a look at your local supecheap/repco stores etc, they normally have stands that have asorted nuts and bolts, they should have what your looking for, failing that your local engineering supply store will definitly have what you need.

as for the movement, you sure you have the correct boss kit for your car?
