Is it IRS or not? What are the part numbers for the springs?
If the VQ is IRS it should be using KHRL-46SLHD springs which don't need shorter shockers in the rear and KHPR-22 or KHPR-22SL fronts which also do not need shorter shockers in the front.
If its non-IRS, they should be KHPR-20HD (superlow) or KHPR-20SL (ultralow) which require shorter shock absorbers to keep the springs trapped. All standard/non IRS rear springs in a VN/VP/VQ need shorter shocks to keep the springs trapped.
For the front, it should be ok. VR/VS onwards needed shorter front shocks for extended bump travel but the VN/VP springs did not. You should have springs with either part number KHPR-22 (V8) or KHPR-22SL (V6) or KHFL-22SSL (ultralow).
So if you have the right springs, you should need shorter shocks for the rear only.
Hey mate thanks for the Advice,
Yeah its IRS and as for the part numbers im not too sure of cause a mate of mine works at the local Tyre Place got them for me Cost price which is handy...
Also with superlows is it advisable to put a camber kit in the rear of the statesman.?
Looking forward to Dropping her down a tad....
cheers

Yeah i'd get a camber kit mate for sure, especially to stop tyre wear.
ALL VQs have irs.
Before you lower makesure your Rear IRS cradle isn't cracked.. Mine on the stato is... & it's getting worse...
It's a big problem in VQ statesmans...
Cheers
