i am buying a 1994-1995 model toyota lexen from my cousin it needs a water pump and my other cousin has a vn water pump will it fit the lexen?
Should bolt directly on, I think the only difference between them is in the vanes on the pump

thanks for the reply![]()
NO! If the water pump from the VN is a series 1 water pump, it will be different! a 94/95 Lexcen sounds like a VP or VR - and if that is the case, it will have the series 2 motor. I believe the series 1 engine had a different water pump with a different spacer... I wouldn't risk it.

Doubt it would be VS. But VP/VR run the same engine, which is different to the VN one![]()

Just becareful, when I was buying the water pump for my car, they asked me whether it was a series 1 or 2 VR Commodore, they said there was a minor internal difference or something.
i put a VR water pump in my series 1 vnand it worked perfectly
vr s2 and vs water require a shim between the the pump and the pulley
same engine, even if its a Series I and II they will fit.
The last one I bought (Ultima brand) was marked as VN-VS and fits and works perfectly on my series 1 VN engine, only thing was i didn't replace the shim gasket at the same time so over time that's developed a minor leak

There's a guy here in Perth that does V6 conversions (chevtorque) and swears by the VN water pump on all models through to the Alloytec (not inclusive).
He says the vaining is different and fitting one to say a ecotec fitted to a Hilux has solved over heating problems. (just one example).
I have only ever used VN waterpumps since and also find they flow a bit more and keep things slightly cooler when the others haven't.
I'm replacing a water pump on my vn series 1. I went to bursons and asked specifically for a series 1 v6 water pump. however the part i was given has no spacer plate and there is no mention of series 1 on the box. do i need to get this part exchanged?
