warm start trouble

Gday everyone,

Nice site you've got here, been very helpful so far..
One problem with my vn (s1 v6) though that i can't yet solve after a good day of thread searching is the following:
When cold it starts perfectly (although sometimes a bit too quickly with a slight knock) When its hot it coughs and splutters to idle after a good 5 second crank and no throttle. to start it quickly it needs a bootful. A puff of black smoke comes out when its hot, as if its getting too richer mix. It has a new MAT sensor, O2 sensor and pouring water onto the CAS makes no difference. What are some possibilities? Maybe the coolant sensor and if so which one?

Pouring water over the cas made no diff to mine either but replacing it cured the problem. When I had the old one off I could see a hairline crack in the epoxy.

btw I replaced mine with one from the wreckers for 1/4 the price the holden dealership was asking. if you go this way make sure you clean it up and check it out with a magnifying glass before money changes hands.

or even better get a VR setup ie. balancer and CAS as they seem to be built a lot more reliably
