ok. u only have one wire on it because it grounds itself when you bolt it to the boot. that one wire is run 2 a switch and the other end of the switch goes to 12v power. i hooked mine up 2 accessories so it can only be pressed and opened when the accessories are onoh, and it hooks onto the boot latch. u disconnect the manual lever cable and hook in the solenoid
hope this helps
heres pics

why would you connect it to accessories? then you need the key anyway so you may as well just use the key it would be easyer than putting the key in the ignition then walking back to the other side then back to the boot :P being a vn i'm sure that the solinoid wire is in the boot somewhere just find the black and red wire (i think that is the colour from memory) and it earths through the boot like georgeonboost said.
13.3 1/4 exhaust only untuned!
cool thanks i will have a look and tell you how i go![]()

what switch are you using? it should only be a momentarily switch which means when pressed it pops back out and doesn't stay on.
thats wat it is but i think i got an on-off not off-on

constant power is fine no point if you put it to accessories
remote boot release still use constant power
...and a level of security is offered by installing a on/off switch in the glove box. there is a space in the moulding there (at the top, near where the upper edge of the lid closes into) so that you can stop unauthorised use of the boot release by locking the glove box. note that these things often draw a lot of power (~20A from distant memory) so make sure all your parts are rated appropriately.
if its anything like my vp glove box a crook would open it in 2 secs... but thats beside the point i guess...
a hidden switch somewhere else would be a good idea as the boot is the only relatively secure part of the car. my boot release is a lever by the drivers seat = no security at all!
