I found the remote, put a multimeter on the battery and reads 11.67v and then the button is pressed 11.58v so I dont think the battery is flat (yes it has a 12v battery in it). Is the red LED on the remote ment to flash rapidly when the button is pressed?

The cars not here at the moment to test again so will have to try later. Im not really fussed about it but would be nice if it worked.

ah well no luck for me. the light on the remote flashes but nothing happens. turned on the immobilizer in the door jam and still nothing (pretty sure it had to be on). just for the hell of it I tried to start the car with the immobilizer on to see what would happen and "PRESS REMOTE" appeared. I pressed the button on the remote and nothing happened either. maybe I was given the remote to a different car

If remote does not work properly you can get code from holden and mongoose can do the adjustment.
jet pilot you need overide key code from holden and to get overide key cut is $10 from nearly any locksmith.

Just opened up the remote to have a close inspection and noticed something suspicious. I dont know if its ment to be like this but looks like someone has scratched through the tracks on the PCB. I should keep my eye out on ebay to see if I can get another one.

    scratched areas on PCB

    tracks visibly broken

someone said go to mongoose, but I would like to know where the receiver is and if I can just swap the receiver to suit the remote???

the key hole in the passenger door jam is to arm the immobilizer. the doors still work fine with it on. your thinking of deadlocking the doors with the drivers door lock.

The receiver is passenger kick panel and is rivited in and hard to remove,a different receiver will cost lots more than new remote pad.
Sackvp that key activates the engine immobilisor and stops the motor being started with out the remote.

this is my problem too, i changed my battery in the remote and it didnt help anything, i can get the locking to work but only once iv unlocked the doors and then i still have to stick the remote right up close to the radio area to make it work.
Also on a second thort it could be a bad signal coming from the remote and iv seen in dick smiths a remote that can tune to ur old one for $50, might be a good investment

My remote has the scratches as well and doesnt work the locks. Though my scratches are in different spots than azzfox's. Aswell my back door locks play up with central locking. It gives me the ****s when you have to keep checking them esp at night.
    NEED this problem solved soon.

You might need to get your hands in the door trims there and see if they need some lubricant..

My mums VP would open but then wouldn't lock the back doors or one usually, Got some spray a little bit of hand movement bend this and that straighten it up and they all work fine together now.. I did replace 2 motors also.
